Not using videoconferencing - that's insane!

Controversial maybe. But isn’t it that time of year when we all look at what we can do differently? Or at least we should be… as the genius Einstein was reputed to have said - it’s insane to keep on doing the same old thing over and over, and yet still expect a different result
In business if you’re looking for a significant increase in revenues or a large rise in profits, you know it isn’t going to happen if you keep on doing things the way you’ve always done them. Makes sense doesn’t it? Now Christmas has gone realism returns - it’s nearly 12 months before we can believe in miracles again!
Any really successful product or service isn’t just 10% better here and there – it’s totally changes some aspect or is made very differently. Take Apple. That’s what they’ve done consistently and we’d all like to be as successful as them wouldn’t we?
What can you do to shake things up so your company generates much better results?
How about technology? You might love it, but even if it leaves you cold there’s no doubting it can be a real ‘game-changer’ and we ignore it at our peril!
One branch of technology that is really starting to flourish is video conferencing. Large organisations have used video conferencing for a decade or more. They quickly spotted how easy it was to cut out business travel for expensive executives and make huge savings. Cable & Wireless for example reckon they save £2m every year!
The rest of us have largely ignored video conferencing. It was too complex and too costly. But that’s just not true any more. These barriers have been crashed through. There just aren’t the excuses any more, even for you sole operators. This is a superb time to see how video conferencing can help you take your performance to a much higher level.
You don’t need to worry about the technology anyway. What is much more important is that you really embrace video as your preferred way to communicate. Once you make the effort to use it whenever possible… especially instead of the phone … you’ll be amazed at the advantages.
We know plenty of people start out feeling that video’s not for them. But once they’ve experienced how natural it is to see who they are talking to, they end up using video in preference to the phone, email etc. whenever possible.
If you really build video conferencing into your daily routine then you should be amazed at the benefits. Everyone thinks of travel savings but it can also have a really positive effect on the top line too. Getting more done in less time and with lower costs. Sounds pretty appealing doesn't it? That’s why now is the time to embrace video – you’d be mad not to!
